About the Studio
Sounds of Treble String Studio offers beginning and intermediate private lessons to students ages four through adult. Each student attends a 30 minute one-on-one lesson each week, where instruction is tailored to their age and abilities.
Various teaching methods are employed in order to best serve a wide variety of students. Methods used include Sound Innovations for String Orchestra, the Sassmannshaus Early Start method, and various other composers and compilers of beginning to intermediate music.
The Studio also includes a training orchestra, the Lyricwood Cadets, where students in fourth grade and higher have the opportunity to develop their group playing skills. Along the way, we build a strong community of like-minded string players.
The Lyricwood Cadets serves as a feeder program to the Lyricwood orchestra, Mitchell’s university and community orchestra based at Dakota Wesleyan University. Participation in the program is designed to allow students to be life-long musicians, able to contribute musically to local groups of any area.
